About Me
Welcome! I am so excited to share my stories with you and your little ones. I am a wife, mom of five, second-grade teacher, Navy Veteran, short-term rental vacation business owner, and author!
I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and volunteering. Veteran issues are a huge passion of mine. I was crowned Ms. Veteran America 2018 - 1st Runner Up, Mrs. Washington 2022, Ms. USA Universe Petite, and Ms. USA Universe - 2nd Runner Up. At the Ms. Veteran America competition, I found my favorite non-profit organization, Final Salute Inc.! They help women Veterans and their children who are homeless and/or under extreme financial strain.
I have always dreamed of writing books but never took the plunge. I had a middle school teacher, Ms. Biddle, who sparked my passion for reading and writing poetry. I can still remember the poem she wrote me about the delicious food, strawberry shortcake. It was a pivotal moment in my life, and I knew then I would one day publish my own book.
My husband published his own two books, North West Mythology Volume One and Two, in 2021 and 2022. While helping him edit, format, and publish his books, I realized I wanted to follow through on my own dreams of writing a book as well.
During my years of teaching, I have seen firsthand how important it is to teach children social skills. Since the pandemic, the need for social skills has increased exponentially. With this problem in mind, Scarlett Learns to Share, was created.
This is my first children's book! It engages children with catchy rhymes and teaches them how to share at the same time. My illustrator and creative designer were able to make my vision come to life through their magical work. I want kids to see themselves in my book and feel connected with the characters. Each detail in every photo was carefully thought out.
